Job Summary

Reporting to the Vice President, Global Talent Management,  the Associate Director, Global Talent Management Programs (GTM)  is a subject matter expert providing thought leadership while  partnering and consulting across the global  HR function (Talent Acquisition (TA) , Learning and Development, HR Operational Excellence CoE), HR Business Partners, and People Leaders.

This role is responsible for designing and implementing organization-wide integrated global talent management programs, processes and practices (building a robust  talent management pipeline, increasing talent retention, driving a culture of high performance and accountability, enhancing employee experience,  building leadership capability and career development) to ensure that Apotex has the culture and capability to achieve its Enterprise Operating  Plan and  long term strategic business and talent objectives.

Job Responsibilities

Manages the design, development, implementation and monitoring of integrated talent strategies and related programs, policies and services which simplify, automate and drive efficiencies while enhancing  employee experience and overall people leader effectiveness. 

  • Leverages TM trends and best practices to ensure strategies, programs, processes/technologies and practices are optimized, current and aligned with organizational priorities.
  • Partners with TM and TA  Leads to build, evaluate and sustain an Employer Value Proposition (EVP)  aligned to Apotex Employee Experience (EEx) and which positions Apotex as an Employer of Choice.
  • Partners with HR Operational Excellence and HR Partners as  key stakeholders to design, refine, implement, and embed a simplified Performance Management (PM) and Succession Planning (SP) process to help leaders have inspiring development, feedback and coaching conversations with employees  which drive enhanced engagement, development and high performance.
  • Builds Leadership capability and promotes understanding of PM as an enabler of high performance and establishes clarity and alignment on the definition of performance and value levels to support and improve all milestones of the PM cycle, feedback and coaching
  • In partnership with HR Partners, accountable for executing a pragmatic SP process to identify and nurture top talent and critical roles to ensure Apotex is well prepared for workforce changes with a robust talent pipeline (internal and external) and minimized (known) talent risks and gaps
  • Establishes and leads a Global TM Council to ensure functional and regional alignment, governance and cadence of TM programming as well as sharing, learning and exchange of TM ideas and best practice.  
  • Partners with Operational Excellence CoE and Data Analytics to provide insightful talent analytics (dashboards, updates etc) that inform TM activities as well as the development  of the annual Executive Talent Health Review Board meeting providing critical talent pipeline updates, organizational talent risks and mitigation strategies.  
  • Partners with Director, Organizational Development and Change to drive change awareness, resiliency and change capabilities through appropriate methods including training, tools and other initiatives to ensure stakeholder buy-in and adoption of TM programs.
  • Champions and embeds Apotex’s Inclusive Culture philosophy and practice in all talent programs and processes, in support of a diverse and inclusive culture and workforce.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a robust network of external HR contacts to remain abreast of current developments and activities to ensure Apotex’s TM practices and activities remain current and competitive.
  • Utilize open, honest, two way communication to build trust-based relationships with employees, business partners and direct leader while continuously improving leadership capabilities by personally seeking feedback and development.
  • Ensure adherence of team members (direct reports if applicable ) with all compliance programs and company policies and procedures.

  • Performs all work in accordance with all established regulatory and compliance and safety requirements.

Job Requirements

  • University degree or Post-Secondary Education in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business or closely related field.
  • 10 years’ practical experience in a Human Resources role including extensive talent management experience with all levels of positions.  HRBP Experience a definite asset.
  • Project or workstream management experience and the capability to identify key risks, issues, contingency plans, and timelines. 
  • Strong business acumen and collaborative style to build relationships and quickly gain credibility with HR, people leaders, employees  and key stakeholders across functional teams and project teams. 
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple concurrent cross-functional projects and initiatives; comfortable managing work through ambiguity demonstrating flexibility.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including facilitation skills, and the ability to communicate complex information and thought leadership in a compelling and approachable manner.
  • A thorough understanding of the issues that impact culture, values and performance and emerging and new TM practices.
  • Computer efficiency in office automation and collaboration tools. Knowledge of SAP Successfactors and Qualtrics preferred.
