Job Summary

 

Responsible for the day-today operational support of the Data Ingestion Run Book, schedules, SLA’s and data ingestion pipeline.  This role collaborates with the Data Engineer and Archtect to ensure consistency and integrity of the data.   You will ensure new Data services, align to the overall Data Strategy  and direction.

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Document and maintain Data Ingestion Run Book, schedules and SLAs for data ingestion pipeline jobs
  • Provide performance and monitoring support of data ingestion tool & jobs, review and address user tickets related to support Pipeline & Azure Data Lake Environment
  • Remediate data ingestion tool availability or performance incidents and data ingestion pipeline job failures
  • Escalate data ingestion problems and coordinate with Data Ingestion tool vendor, Platform Infrastructure Engineer or Platform Data Engineer to resolve
  • Document and maintain Knowledge Base of known problems and fixes
  • Remediate data quality or data transformation pipeline job failures and escalate performance or availability problems and coordinate with Microsoft Azure, Platform Infrastructure Engineer or Platform Data Engineer to resolve
  • Liaises regularly with the Data Engineer , Analyst and Architect to address any data integrity issues.
  • Serves as a technical lead for tasks, teams and projects on all Platforms.
  • Provides 3rd level support of overall Data Platform & Services , including patching and updates.
  • Demonstrates team leadership attributes, incorporating communication and knowledge transfer;
  • Will be required to be on-call, where travel may be required to any of the Apotex and/or affiliate sites
  • Accept accountability for making critical decisions on projects, tasks and initiatives
  • Works with vendors to assess current and future Data Platform Services ;
  • Develops an in depth understanding of all Apotex policies, procedures and standards and operating processes associated with their information technology area;
  • Works in a safe manner collaborating as a team member to achieve all outcomes.

Job Requirements

 

  • Minimum of undergraduate degree in a related field (Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Sciences) or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 3 years combined experience in Pharmaceutical/Process Industry, Consumer Packaged Goods, Information Systems, or Management Consulting Environment preferred;
  • 3 years experience working with Microsoft Azure Data Platforms
  • Exceptional communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to make critical decisions aligned to GIS direction and strategy
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Azure Data Platforms
  • Knowledge of HIVE, Spark (Scala/Python), Data Lake Infrastructure tools & Techniques
  • Knowledge of Hadoop, HDFS and Linux directory and file management concepts and code syntax
  • Understanding of Azure Data Lake concepts, including HDInsight settings for configuring directory structures and namespaces Experience in using Data Engineering tools, Process & Techniques
  • Good understanding of SDLC and release management processes
  • Experience with data ingestion tools and analytic tools that run on Hadoop and Spark
  • Experience installing & configuring Microsoft Azure products such has ADLS Gen2, HDInsight, Databricks, Synapse Analytics
  • Develop Solid understanding of Apotex Incident, Problem and Change Management processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to make decisions, solve and troubleshoot problems based on analysis, experience and judgement;
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities to accomplish objectives and goals anticipating and adjusting for problems and interruptions/roadblocks;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; Fast learner
