Job Summary

The Manager, Secure Supply Chain is responsible for the tracking and execution of Apotex’s Global  Supply Chain Security Program. The establishment of a formal program to enhance Supply Chain Security s a key deliverable to the role. This role will have tactical oversight of the Global Supply Chain Security Program and its efforts to meet further enhance physical and environmental controls of our product.

This role also includes leading a diverse team to craft strategies to protect finished goods assets under the scope of Global Supply Chain; direction of projects to design and implement compliant, efficient and effective security systems, processes, and procedures; This also includes oversight of global site initiatives aimed at establishing ongoing capability to supply product securely based on requirements and standards provided by the Program and in compliance with cGMP. Provide subject matter expertise on security related topics to Apotex leaders and supply chain areas

This role works globally and cross-functionally, providing direction and support to corporate and site teams, cross functional departments (including Global Supply Chain Logistics, QA, Commercial, Operations, GIS, etc.) and key stakeholders at all levels of the organization, while ensuring alignment with the business strategies and meeting industry best practices and market compliance requirements.

The Manager, Global Secure Supply Chain  can lead change through engaging multiple stakeholders, escalating risk, driving outcomes and proactively dealing with roadblocks. This role will engage directly with market regulatory bodies, industry and customer groups to aid in the development of standards and expectations on behalf of Apotex and industry associations.

Provide subject matter expertise on security related topics to Apotex leaders and supply chain areas and support product investigations relating to physical and environmental risk exposures to our products.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage decentralized cross functional global program teams of supply chain security representatives, while assessing risks and providing solutions to the business that mitigate those risks to Apotex product and patient safety.
  • Assess the Apotex global supply chain landscape and recommend modifications to security plans, policies and procedures and supply chain operations.
  • Establish and manage a collection of measurement matrices and measurements to display the secure supply chain environment, status, and value.
  • Establish and lead educational and training programs focusing on policy and procedures relating to supply chain security programs.
  • Manage the infrastructure and maintenance of secure supply chain standards, requirements, tools, and process documentation.
  • Support core business and quality contract negotiations, development, implementation, and continuous validation for secure supply chain language integration with suppliers and service providers.
  • Function as a leader of the Global Secure Supply Chain team on finished product supply chain security topics applicable to established business process streams.
  • Support implementation of supply chain security related policies and procedures across the Apotex global organization thereby ensuring consistency in application of Apotex’s security Standards.
  • Provide technical and regulatory guidance with regards to market requirements to internal and external stake-holders to ensure overall compliance to the spirit of securing our supply chain.
  • Work with the Global Audit Department to support, with subject matter expertise, topics relating to finshed product security capabilities and strategies expected of our service providers and finished product suppliers.
  • Lead, develop and maintain effective relationships with QA, Commercial and Supply Chain leaders and SMEs specifically on the topics of product physical and environtmental security.
  • Provide technical expertise leadership, support the development of solutions in major global finished product security - related projects internally and with external partners such as Commercial Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs), Third Party Logistics Providers (3PLs).
  • Lead the creation of Global Security Manual, Security Policies (GPOLs) and Global Standard Operating Procedures (GSOPs); to ensure our approach to product security is proceduralized, communicated and trained via standard Apotex documentation practices.
  • Works as a member of the team to achieve all team and GSTO division initiatives as assigned.
  • Participate in Security Industry working groups to ensure Apotex is practically represented in order to influence regulations and guidances and gain insight to industry trends and best practices.

Job Requirements

  • Education
    • University degree in  Engineering/ Business/ Science related field with a preference for a Supply Chain/Operations discipline.
    • Plog., APICS’ CPIM/CSCP, SCMA’s CSCMP and/or Security related certifications or training an asset.
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
    • 10+ years of progressive experience within the supply chain security field including Supply Chain, Logistics, Distribution in corporate/global leadership roles.
    • Sound knowledge of Supply chain security best practices, prefereably in the health sciences sector or other regulated industry.
    • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage global level projects with strict timelines, with demonstrated ability to lead, mentor and develop others.
    • Ability to work effectively in an international multicultural matrix organization.
    • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate complex ideas in clear, simple and succinct ways, both orally and in writing, to all levels of the organization.
    • Excellent presentation skills in a variety of settings with business or technical users, from end users to senior management, in small and large groups.
    • Strong change management skills, preparing for and facilitating the implementation of change.
    • Highly collaborative working style and able to influence business outcomes without formal authority.
    • Must be flexible towards working hours and available for travel, if needed.
