Job Summary
Responsible for partnering with customers (internal and external) to provide consultation and advice regarding the movement of goods, materials and samples globally in the most efficient & cost-effective manner as per the department and corporate strategic direction and plan, ensuring the delivery of quality product to the customer.
Acts as a key resource and subject matter expert on traffic processes and shipment requirements to coordinate and prepare all required & logistical and regulatory documentation related to the movement of freight globally.
Job Responsibilities
- Generate and coordinate all documentation related to the transport of goods and materials globally. Review and confirm all logistical documents are completed accurately & efficiently and filed in an organised filing system.
- Identify and escalate issues to senior coordinate and management if necessary.
- Collaborate with internal departments/customers and act as a resource to assist in the preparation/coordination of documents & scheduling/status notification of shipments globally to ensure effective utilization of freight forwarder services in a cost effective and timely manner. Ensure proactive follow up on critical high priority shipments, communicating and providing visibility to internal stakeholders.
- Educates and coaches internal stakeholders on traffic processes and shipment requirements
- Communicate with freight forwarder/broker to coordinate shipment instructions and investigate shipmentrregularities. Act as an SME to provide detailed timelines for traffic investigations to internal stakeholders.
- Participate in the development of long term planning to support corporate goals, investigate new technologies, recommend process improvement opportunities and propose more economical traffic patterns to enhance customer service & reduce expenses; Implement and/or support the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives.
- Communicate with internal departments to update and maintain customer profile/shipping instructions in SAP and all related databases.
- Create and maintain internal Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions and ensure all procedures with external partners are current.
- Ensure that all shipments are complete with required documentation and oversee the entire shipment process utilizing internal/external systems.
- Update skill database as per role competencies.
- Performs all work in accordance with all established regulatory and compliance and safety requirements.

Job Requirements
Education
- College or University in a related Logistics discipline
- FITT, APICS, CITT or P. Log an asset
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Must possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Excellent problem solving skills and ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to manage pressure and meet strict deadlines,
- Good planning and organizational skills.
- Excellent customer service skills
- Must be detail oriented and accurate when processing documentation
- Proactive, positive, enthusiastic and self-driven
- Working knowledge of shipping documentation requirements.
- Working knowledge of SAP
Experience
- 3 years minimum experience in the transportation/customs and logistics industry.

The hiring range for this position is $55,138 to $91,897 CAD per year. The final agreed-upon salary may vary based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills and experience.
