Job Summary
The HRBP is a key member of the site People team, supporting day-to-day HR operations across a large manufacturing environment. This role partners with frontline leaders to drive employee relations, performance management, recruitment, workforce planning, engagement and HR program execution. The HRBP acts as a trusted advisor to People Leaders, providing practical, business focused HR guidance while maintaining a strong preference on the shop floor and building positive employee relationships across the site. This role is responsible for managing operational HR matters independently, supporting a workforce of hourly and salaried employees, and helping ensure consistent, fair and compliant people practices aligned to business objectives and Apotex values.
Job Responsibilities
Business Partnership & Employee Relations
- Serve as the primary HR partner for assigned client groups, providing day-to-day support and guidance to leaders and employees.
- Coach leaders on employee relations matters including performance management, attendance, investigations, progressive discipline, conflict resolution and terminations.
- Conduct and support workforce investigations and ensure matters are addressed fairly, consistently, and in compliance with company policies and employment legislation.
- Build strong working relationships with employees through regular visibility and engagement on the shop floor.
Talent & Workforce Support
- Partner with leaders on recruitment, workforce planning, onboarding and talent needs.
- Support employee development, engagement, and retention initiatives aligned to business priorities.
- Participate in organizational design, job evaluation and workforce changes as required.
HR Program Execution
- Execute core HR programs and processes including performance management, engagement initiatives, policy implementation, change management, and employee communications.
- Partner with HR COE’s to support effective delivery of HR programs and initiatives.
- Support leaders in driving a positive, high performing and accountable culture.
Operational Excellence
- Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with a strong sense of urgency and responsiveness.
- Ensure HR practices remain compliant with employment legislation, company policies and health, safety and compliance requirements.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of HR processes, practices, and employee experience across the site.
Job Requirements
Education / Experience
- University degree in HR or a related field. CHRP designation preferred.
- 7+ years of progressive HR experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong experience managing employee relations for hourly and salaried employees.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong knowledge of Ontario employment legislations.
- Practical, solutions oriented approach with strong judgment and decision making capability.
- Strong communication, coaching and relationship-building skills.
- Comfortable operating on the shop floor and building credibility with frontline teams and leaders.
- Ability to influence and support leaders at varying levels of the organization.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to balance operational execution and business priorities.

The hiring range for this position is $ 83,126.43 - $ 116,377.00 CAD per year. The final agreed-upon salary may vary based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills and experience.
