Job Summary
The Project Coordinator is responsible for establishing and managing the scope, design, development, schedule, construction and start-up of various Capital Projects and Leasehold Improvement Projects for Apotex Inc.
This role is responsible to ensure that all company regulations and procedures are followed and that all work is done in a safe, timely and cost-effective manner.
Job Responsibilities
- Prepare cost estimates, feasibility studies and execution schedules for capital projects and/or portions thereof assigned.
- In leading projects as assigned, responsible for delivery of project scope within budget and schedule.
- Prepare and/or co-ordinate the development of detailed drawings and specifications for assigned projects using AutoCAD and Apotex Standards.
- Provide recommendations to technical professionals/management relative to the selection, negotiation, management and evaluation of external suppliers, contractors and technologies.
- Co-ordinate the activities of outside consultants and contractors in the execution of design and construction work, ensuring Apotex technical and regulatory compliance standards, cost and schedule parameters are maintained and reported.
- Lead and/or support the development and execution of F.A.T., commissioning and validation requirements and associated documentation for work assigned.
- In cooperation with the other Apotex project leadership team members, ensure that all systems are in place to ensure due diligence in design and construction procurement/execution and project cost and schedule controls.
- Ensure that all work is performed in full compliance with established Apotex Inc. and regulatory standards including, but not limited to, Apotex Inc. safety policies and procedures, cGMP, building code and MOL/MOE requirements.
- Lead and/or support the development and ongoing maintenance of corporate engineering design and construction standards, and ensure compliance on all project executions.
- Assist the Engineering Management Team in meeting corporate goals and objectives.

Job Requirements
- Education
- Post-secondary education in Engineering in the Province of Ontario or equivalent experience.
- PEO (Professional Engineer of Ontario) designation eligibility - P. Eng. preferred.
- Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Proven track record in managing capital projects in a team environment “on time and on budget”.
- Knowledgeable in the numerous regulatory aspects of capital construction, including the Occupational Health and Safety Act, the Ontario Building Code, the Boiler and Pressure Vessel Act, etc.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
- Fluent in Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, AutoCAD.
- Experience
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in leading the design/construction of capital projects in a fast paced, high-technology, team environment, preferably in the pharmaceutical or food industry.

The hiring range for this position is $ 83,126.43 - $ 116,377.00 CAD per year. The final agreed-upon salary may vary based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills and experience.
