Job Summary

  • The Analyst will analyze, design, optimize, and assist in the implementation of Traffic and Customs processes, information systems, data management, policies and procedures.
  • Prepare analytical reports on a regular and ad-hoc basis providing data driven insights to help optimize Traffic decisions, support efficient processes and behaviors that support departmental and corporate KPM’s.
  • Prepare and maintain departmental budget files that include annual templates for all lanes and regions, assumptions, monthly analyses and reports and other ad hoc financial reporting as required.

Job Responsibilities

  • Analyze information and work flow as it relates to Canadian domestic, US domestic, international business and lanes and all inbound shipments for the Canadian and US markets both inter and intra departmentally. Use this information to make recommendations for changes to existing systems and procedures and development of new ones as required.
  • Develop and maintain key contacts and information sources with all vendors, service providers, freight forwarders and customs brokers.
  • Development and implementation of activity based long term planning systems.
  • Lead the sourcing and evaluation of Traffic/Customs related software through internal/external resources to meet the functional and business needs of the Traffic department and Apotex as required.
  • Develop standards and requirements for all systems related to the management of Traffic and Customs processes and data bases for Apotex.
  • Automate the delivery process and supply chain management functions. (e.g. invoicing, delivery tracking, electronic documentation preparation, product launch).
  • Analyze deliveries and recommend standard operating procedures to be used by joint ventures and subsidiaries for order processing such as: export documentation, quantities, special forms outside of SAP and delivery tracking information.
  • Work with the Commercial teams and GSTO functional areas, to identify opportunities to eliminate redundant and low value processes and automate key processes where value can be added through systematic management of information.
  • Preparation and maintenance of all documentation of departmental processes, procedures and guidelines for new staff and reference material for all department staff.
  • Is the department SME and/or lead investigator for Incidents and investigations related to Traffic functions and activities.

Job Requirements

Education

  • Community College or University graduate in related discipline
  • APICS designation or actively working towards 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong analytical ability
  • Presentation skills an asset
  • Project management experience an asset
  • Strong computer skills particularly MS Office 

Experience

  • Three years Logistics and/or Transportation experience in a related industry
  • Knowledge of operational supply chain processes including the flow of materials and information
  • Robust SAP module knowledge in WM, MM or TMS and/or experience or equivalent knowledge with another MRP II system
