Job Summary
Leading the Payroll and Data Management function for the India entities of Apotex. Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing for all employees. Maintain compliance with Indian labour laws, tax regulations, and statutory requirements.
Job Responsibilities
- Oversee end-to-end payroll operations including time entry, salary calculations, variable pay calculations, deductions, and benefits.
- Maintain employee records in Employee Central and Employee Central Payroll (attendance, leaves, personal details).
- Ensure full compliance of calculations in time entry system
- Part of the Global team that manages payroll software and systems; ensure data integrity and system upgrades are tested and implemented in accordance with all legal requirements in a timely manner.
- Ensure timely and effective execution of employee benefit plans like NPS, SAS, FSG, Gratuity Medical Insurance, GPA, GTL and Vodafone.
- Ensure compliance with PF, ESI, TDS, and other statutory filings.
- Monitoring the complete exit formalities of resigned, absconding, and terminated employees and executing the formalities as per the requirements of full and final settlement, recoveries and any other organization assets or items possessed by the employee.
- Lead all payroll and data related audit in India; prepare payroll reports and lead the review process with the auditors internally and external.
- Resolve payroll discrepancies and employee queries in a timely manner.
- Ensure the payout of Annual Increment, LTS settlement (Union), APIP and GAIP for Apotex.
- Support the LTS negotiation process.
- As part of the people objective, develop a high-performing team, conduct monthly one-on-one meetings with direct reports to provide timely and constructive feedback and discuss employee performance to increase capabilities.
- Performs all work by all established regulatory, compliance, and safety requirements.

- Ensure adherence of team members (direct reports) with all compliance programs and company policies and procedures
- All other relevant duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Payroll, Finance, Business Management, or related field
- Preferred certifications: Certified Payroll Professional (CPP), courses from PayrollOrg, Udemy, etc.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in payroll management.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Proficiency in payroll software (SAP/ECP ) and time system (WFS and Spectra)
- Advanced Excel and data analysis skills.
- Knowledge of Indian labour laws and tax regulations.
- Experience in payroll audits and statutory compliance.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Problem-solving and analytical thinking.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines.
