Job Summary

This position is responsible for all supply chain, and sourcing operations for the site including the total series of processes that define the logistics elements of the supply chain, encompassing the management of product and information flow from source through to delivery to the selling unit. The position has functional over-sight for the site resource planning, production planning, scheduling, procurement and new product launch execution.

The role holds both strategic and tactical responsibility for the site supply chain activities. This position must ensure that customer requirements are fully met and that cost effective delivery can be a win-win for Apotex and its’ customers. This will be achieved by creating a dynamic environment for the supply chain team and continuing to build an industry leading organization

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Assumes leadership for the site based execution team, directing respective activities and establishing cross functional co-ordination and aligned priorities in order to ensure the effective delivery of the production plans and schedules.
  • Accountable for the site’s product supply service, acting as the primary point of contact into ARPL for representation of supply issues and issue resolution timelines. Establishes proactive measures and processes for the advance communication of the potential for missed supply commitments.
  • Lead the development of an aggregate short to mid-term production plan that meets customer service targets, new product launches, product development needs and operational objectives.
  • Accountable to ensure the complete and effective integration of site procurement planning for short and mid-term production planning, scheduling and new product launch requirements
  • Accountable for leading the development of achievable, agreed upon finite schedules to support the production plan and report on same via schedule adherence measures for the manufacturing site.
  • Aligns MRP group support with the longer term capacity, production & inventory planning activities of Global Supply Chain through the development of relevant site based inputs and objectives as driven by GSC supply strategies and objectives.
  • Effectively integrates site performance data and areas of risk in order to proactively identify real or potential customer service issues associated with Back-orders. Communicates same to all key stakeholders and effectively aligns the communications processes with Global Supply Chain.
  • Accountable to ensure and assumes leadership for the effective co-ordination and integration of development, validation and change control activities, effectively balancing the priorities for optimal site performance and delivery of business objectives. Challenges and recommends alternatives when conflicts arise.
  • Maintain open / continuous communication with production, packaging, technical operations, regulatory, validation, warehousing, purchasing, quality assurance, laboratory and inventory staff to understand their short and longer-term planning and scheduling needs and determine their level of satisfaction with the services being provided.
  • Recruit, train, develop and manage effectively the ongoing performance of their direct reports.
  • Responsible to ensure compliance of team members (direct reports) with Safety and Employment policies (e.g., Respect in the Workplace – Prevention of Violence and/or Harassment).
  • Maintain open / continuous communication with documentation, production, validation, warehousing, NPL, purchasing, quality assurance, laboratory and packaging staff to support activities on the production floor.

Job Requirements

  • Education
    • B.E/B. Tech/B. Pharm/B.Sc/B.com. graduate along with Masters/MBA in Supply chain or Operations Management.
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
    • Solid experience with ERP systems and their application in supply chain, SAP preferred
    • A critical thinker, able to set direction within the context of the larger picture and sift through the minutia
    • Well-developed leadership skills with particular emphasis on the ability to build strong teams
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills with demonstrated effectiveness at all organizational levels
    • Customer focused, able to anticipate needs and respond appropriately
    • Results oriented, can influence without direct authority and brings Teams through step changes in performance
    • Proficient with Microsoft applications.
    • Demonstrated attention to detail, accuracy and timeliness.
    • Participates and works supportively within a team environment with minimal supervision.
    • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Experience
    • 10 to 15 years of related work experience in operations, supply chain, Material planning, Logistics, Production Planning & Scheduling.
