Job Summary

Participates and assists in the safe and effective implementation and scale-up of process technologies complying with GMP and drug regulatory guidelines at Apotex Pharmachem Inc.

Job Responsibilities

  • Learn GMP, regulatory and safety concepts, and assists senior process chemists/engineers in the development of safe and effective implementation and scale-up plans of API manufacturing processes.
  • Under the direction of the process chemists/engineers, conducts experiments to support manufacturing operations.
  • Maintains the process operations lab.
  • Collects production batch data and analyse.
  • Assists in the timely preparation of GMP documentation as required.
  • Assists in the preparation of production campaign summaries.
  • Conducts on-the-floor monitoring of production in progress. Conducts in-process testing as required e.g. NMR and TLC’s.
  • Works in a safe manner collaborating as a team member to achieve all outcomes.

  • Ensure personal adherence with all compliance programs including the Global Business Ethics and Compliance Program, Global Quality policies and procedures, Safety and Environment policies, and HR policies.

Job Requirements

  • Education:
    • Enrolled in a 3rd or 4th year degree program of Science (Chemistry) or Chemical Engineering at a recognized academic institution
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
    • Demonstrated ability with Microsoft Word, and Excel.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • Self motivated, driven individual who is a team player with effective interpersonal skills.
    • Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
    • Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
