Job Summary

The Maintenance Specialist, Plant Maintenance is responsible for working as part of the Maintenance team to support the safe and working order of our plant equipment and mechanics. The incumbent installs, monitors, troubleshoots and continuously improves our equipment and preventative maintenance processes.


Please note this role will require you to work rotating days/afternoons.

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for working in conjunction with the production schedule to ensure the required equipment being needed for production is thoroughly inspected prior to going into operation.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all maintenance documentation is completed according to standard operating procedures and departmental preventative maintenance procedures.
  • Responsible for assisting the Maintenance Supervisor in continually reviewing equipment & preventative maintenance programs to ensure that they are reflective of current practices and to initiate the required changes through the established change control procedures.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all Mechanical Issues are properly transferred shift-to-shift and have first been reviewed by the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Responsible for assigning and supervising the directed duties given by the Maintenance Supervisor and to ensure these duties are properly and accurately completed.
  • Responsible for reporting violations of company policies and procedures to the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the production equipment is maintained in proper working conditions.
  • Responsible for being in constant communication with the Maintenance Supervisor, Department Leadhands & Engineering Staff to ensure that production equipment is operating to its maximum potential from both a mechanical & safety perspective.
  • Responsible for reporting the equipment status to the Maintenance Supervisor, Department Leadhands and key production personnel when applicable.
  • Responsible for working with the Maintenance Group to ensure all equipment is functioning properly.
  • Responsible for reporting deviations when encountered and completing full reports identifying key equipment failures and recommendations when applicable.
  • To carry out quality work in a timely manner.
  • To ensure the completion of all Department documentation promptly and accurately.
  • To discuss problems when they arise, with the  Maintenance Supervisor.
  • To attend work each day in a fit mental and physical condition.

  • To upgrade skills and knowledge on a continuing basis.
  • To continually develop systems that will improve equipment operations.

Job Requirements

  • Education
    • Millwright Certification or College diploma in technical field.
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
    • Ability to supervise and direct maintenance projects
    • Ability to organize and plan.
  • Experience
    • Minimum two years’ experience as a Millwright, Senior Maintenance role or Mechanical Machinist
