Job Summary


Provide leadership and support to the Brantford Operations focusing on Supply Chain and Production Planning - and assisting other departments and business areas.  Ensures all areas of responsibility operate in compliance with applicable governmental regulations and internal procedures, including GMP & Safety.

Job Responsibilities


  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining effective, compliant systems and KPIs to drive effective department performance.
  • Responsible for ensuring creation and tracking of performance metrics to demonstrate effectiveness of performance and improvement initiatives, with a goal of reducing deviations and/or reducing costs and improving operational performance (Production Plan Adherence and OTIF Performance metrics).
  • Ensures programs are in place for the review of documentation to identify deviations and areas for improvement. Promptly liaise with QA and Compliance during incident review and resolution and work in close tandem to drive an integrated, efficient, and compliant production system.
  • Responsible for being involved in and supporting customer and regulatory audits. Coordinates activities to address noted deficiencies, contributes to the development of corrective action plans and responses, monitors the implementation of CAPAs and provides reports on status until deficiency items/commitments have been completely addressed.
  • Escalate all critical incidents in adherence to site policies and procedures. Ensure all critical incidents are followed up and documented appropriately in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for the preparation and monitoring of annual budgets for the Supply Chain group. Ensures issues are raised as appropriate.  Looks for opportunities for cost saving through efficiencies/organizational restructuring.
  • Manage all incoming API demand from Apotex and 3rd party customers, coordination production and developing strategic supply plans to meet all customer requirements. Oversee the preparation of monthly and yearly production plans, in line with our PPA objectives and revenue targets.  Responsible for the coordinating and management of distribution plans for API’s, in line with our OTIF targets.

  • Ensure adherence of team members (direct reports) with all compliance programs and company policies and procedures.
  • All other duties as assigned.


Job Requirements


  • Bachelor's Degree or higher is preferred. A technical diploma (e.g. Logistics, Supply Chain, Project Management) with 5+ years of Supervisory or Management experience will also be considered.
  • Experience in the pharma, food, cosmetic or chemical industry; Work experience in a fine chemical, bulk API or Finished Dosage Pharma production facilities would be an asset.
  • Supervisory experience is required for this role.
  • Excellent knowledge of ICH Q7A GMPs for APIs would be preferred.
  • Experience with Lean manufacturing concepts and programs is an asset.
  • Keeps abreast of new regulations/guidelines, changes in GMP interpretation, emerging regulatory and industry trends, informs Management of developments, makes recommendations on procedure/policy changes, and ensures development, implementation, and execution of the program.
  • Uses sound judgment in making decisions and forming recommendations.
  • Adheres to CGMPs and applicable Standard Operating Procedures when performing job responsibilities and assigned tasks.
  • Effectively manages workload and prioritizes work in line with the overall department and Company objectives and requirements, adhering to defined targets and deadlines.
  • Maintains complete and accurate documentation/records/data, filed in an organized, secure and easily retrievable manner.
