Job Summary

The Project Leader, Operations Programs is responsible to support Engineering capital projects, including Engineering vendor management program, Health and Safety coordination, and documentation projects.

This role is responsible to act as the project team leader for harmonization and/or improvement projects at any of the Apotex Toronto area OSD and OLD operational sites. 

Responsible to develop the project plan, execute the plan to schedule, and measure intervention success.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage Engineering vendors, including arranging new vendor requests, determination of SISPQ impact, vendor qualification, proper documentation, and vendor renewal.
  • Mange the safety orientation training for employees and contractors working on Engineering capital projects, including updating training material, and ensuring compliance by appropriate personnel.
  • Manage documentation projects including performing detailed impact assessments, providing ongoing support and guidance to Engineering personnel, and managing and tracking progress of SOD revisions using corporate applications such as TrackWise.
  • Lead project team activities as required to analyze site and Org Unit specific needs.
  • Develop technical and process improvement project plans to include task lists and timelines for developing required infrastructure & tools, training personnel, developing and implementing success measurement criteria, and estimated costs.
  • Lead project team activities required to complete projects on schedule and create contingency plans to ensure minimal project impact when changes do occur.
  • Liaise with impacted Org Unit(s) to ensure project activities that disrupt on-going Operations are coordinated to minimize the disruption.
  • Ensure clear communication links are established between project team members, technical groups, consultants, and impacted Org Unit(s).

Job Requirements

  • Education
    • Post-secondary technical education program in a related field.
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
    • Proven leadership ability particularly in the areas of achieving outcomes through others, developing and maintaining positive working relationships, clarifying expectations and seeking understanding, and taking ownership and accountability for own performance.
    • Proven strong organizational, time management, and project management skills.
    • Ability to work within a team environment (as part of a team) as demonstrated through previous work experience.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
    • Proven customer service skills.
    • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
    • Computer literacy with Microsoft Office programs.
    • Good understanding of cGMPs.
  • Experience
    • 5+ years of successful work experience in a related technical field.
    • Proven experience in systematic problem solving.
