Consumer Health Director

Job Summary

Reporting directly to the LATAM Vice President, the Consumer Health Business Unit Director is responsible for achieving net sales objectives. This role oversees commercial margin, OPEX, and operating income for OTC product lines in accordance with the approved budget. As a member of the LATAM leadership team, the incumbent will contribute to the development and execution of the 5-year international strategic plan.

The Business Unit Director will lead the marketing and strategy teams, provide guidance on portfolio development, and work closely with the sales team to reach the company’s growth ambition of multiplying LATAM sales fivefold in 10 years, while ensuring consistent financial discipline and strong employee engagement within the business unit.

Job Responsibilities

• Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve business objectives and market growth.
• Market Analysis: Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and economic indicators to support business decisions.
• Product Development: Collaborate with portfolio and development teams to launch new Consumer Health (OTC) and VMS (Vitamins, Minerals, and Supplements) products.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to align objectives and drive initiatives.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all marketing activities and products comply with relevant standards and regulations.
• Budget Management: Manage budgets and financial planning to optimize resources and maximize profitability.
• Event Leadership: Lead and participate in key industry events, assess brand-level opportunities, and organize an annual flagship event to strengthen brand positioning.
• Innovation and Execution: Challenge the status quo while delivering clear winning claims and strong point-of-sale positioning.
• Capability Building: Lead the development of a consumer health mindset and capabilities, as LATAM is the first region globally to build this Business Unit.
• Regional Growth Vision: Think globally across LATAM and aim for large-scale geographic expansion, particularly in Central and South America.

Job Requirements

• Education
  • Life Sciences, Business, or a related discipline, Master or PhD desirable.
• Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Proven track record of achieving financial goals and building high-performance teams.
  • Strong business acumen with a broad understanding of market and business models, and ability to think beyond functional boundaries.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with key external and internal stakeholders
  • Advanced English.
• Experience
  • Over 10 years of commercial experience in OTC / Consumer Health / Pharmaceuticals or the FMCG industry.
