Medical Science Liaison (MSL)

Job Summary

The MSL will develop and maintain long term, peer-to-peer relationships with critical stakeholders including thought leaders and other health care professionals (HCPs). MSLs will interact with HCPs in both academic medical centers and community oncology practices and will provide high-level scientific expertise and education on the biosimilar approval pathway, the development of biosimilars, the latest data revolving biosimilars and competitive intelligence.  Additionally, the MSL will foster local and/or national research and educational opportunities and extend the Medical Affairs resources as appropriate.

Job Responsibilities

Engage in scientific exchange with key decision makers by providing fair balanced, credible, and comprehensive clinical and health economics information to support biosimilar education, awareness, adoption, and payer reimbursement and coverage.

Provide high-level scientific expertise and education on the topic of similarity and/or interchangeability between biosimilars and reference products and the appropriate use of biosimilars for optimal patient care outcomes.

Provide investigator and site recommendations as well as scientific and enrollment support for clinical trials consistent with company strategy.

Facilitate investigator sponsored studies (ISS) as opportunities arise.

Build, develop & maintain professional relationships with regional, national and international thought leaders and demonstrate value as a clinical and scientific resource.  Complete timely documentation of interactions and contacts within appropriate databases.

Identify opportunities to partner with HCPs on disease state initiatives of interest to, and in alignment with, the strategic objectives of Apotex México and LATAM.

Engage in speaker identification, training and evaluation and provide support for advisory board meetings as requested.

Provide timely, accurate, specific and balanced responses to professional requests for information (PIR) regarding biosimilars.

As requested, and in collaboration with Medical Affairs Department, assist in the creation of educational and presentation materials in support of customer needs. 

Attend national and international scientific congresses and provide scientific booth support as needed.

Adhere to and manage travel expenses to meet Apotex politics.

Consistant collaboration with but not excluding, Medical Affairs, Regulatory affiars, Quality, Business development and Commercial.

Job Requirements

• Medical Degree , Master or PhD is desirable
• 1 year of MSL experience, including experience with advisory boards and speakers’ bureaus. 
• Must have Fluent/Advance English (Speaking, Writting, Reading) 
• Established relationships with KOL in the geographical area to be covered required.
• Understanding of concepts and application of health economics and outcomes research preferred.
• Demonstrated expertise in drug information communication; strong presentation skills.
• Demonstrated strong scientific knowledge and ability to understand and communicate clinical data.
• Ability to build productive work relationships both internally and externally.
• Ability to integrate and work in a cross functional network.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to travel up to 40%.
