Job Summary

Supports new product identification and development efforts for the US market.  Assists in the selection and coordination of the US product portfolio.  Compiles and analyzes brand and generic pharmaceutical market data for the purpose of evaluating and identifying products of interest.  Assists in prioritizing the portfolio based on projected revenue potential taking into consideration the market landscape, development cycles, and submission timing by working cross functionally with other stakeholders.  Identifies industry and market trends that support identification of high-potential future products and/or could significantly impact products already included in the portfolio

Job Responsibilities

  • Assists in the development and maintenance of forecast and projected revenue analyses that guide strategic investment decisions for internal/external development programs, regulatory filings and commercial decisions by taking into consideration brand/generic product projections, legal, regulatory and competitive landscapes
  • Supports activities related to the quarterly PST (Product Selection Team) Meeting, and quarterly/annual portfolio prioritization model reporting
  • Make recommendations in regard to product portfolio selection and/or rationalization
  • Contribute to the design, implementation and management of analytical processes and methodologies to facilitate and guide decisions related to strategy, risk management and portfolio optimization
  • Assists in managing local databases for tracking decisions and milestones, and to streamline information between multiple departments
  • Responsible for various forecasts and financial analyses and reporting, particularly in regard to portfolio products
  • Maintains proficiency in all available research tools and sources, including IMS HEALTH, IPD Analytics, FDA Orange Book, Drugs@FDA, Medi-Span Price Rx, DailyMed, online news sources, and internal data sources and programs
  • Manages projects as required for the department
  • Assists in preparing standardized and ad-hoc reports
  • Assists and/or creates presentations

Job Requirements

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s degree required either in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, Pharmacy/Scientific discipline, or a similar degree; advanced degree in business management or science preferred
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a similar role in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Strong and proven quantitative, qualitiative, analytical reasoning and communication skills
  • Must be organized and have the ability to present themselves to others
  • Competent in MS Excel, PowerPoint and Access and familiar with data warehouse environments.
  • IMS and other pharmaceutical database knowledge required (Price Rx, FDA Sites etc)
  • Candidates must have the ability to manage multiple priorities successfully and work independently while demonstrating initiative and strong analytical skills
  • Individual must work well in a dynamic environment and be able to recommend and implement process improvements and handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Highly self-directed and solution-oriented
  • Strong attention to detail

COMPUTER OPERATIONS

Microsoft Office Suite, particularly strong Excel skills required

IMS and other pharmaceutical database knowledge
