Job Summary

To ensure that the business decision making activities and performance improvement initiatives with respect to the Canadian business can be supported by providing highly specialized analytics and performance reporting.  To effectively manage analytical activities that enables the company to establish effective commercial terms within all stakeholders and support business planning process.

The Sales Planning Analyst is responsible for partnering with Sales to provide in-depth analysis on the financial performance of a set of key Sales customers; which may include reconciliations and analysis of Territory/Rep level financial performance and Rep target compliance. 

He/she plays a critical role in the end to end negotiation process for the RFPs for these customers, building and maintaining relationships both internally and externally to support the business;

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the monthly and quarterly financial analysis for the Canadian Key Account segment, identifying areas requiring attention through management reports. Recommends remedial action to senior management in terms of top and bottom-line performance and serves as an expert resource in their field.
  • Responsible for the monthly and quarterly financial analysis and reconciliation of Rep Target performance as established in the Budget submission / Latest Forecast.
  • Identifies and develops initiation to support systems and analytical tools implementations to increase automation and improves productivity
  • Responsible for the coordination and analysis of the Canadian business annual budget offering an in-depth and business-focussed perspective with respect to performance.  Uses best practices and benchmarking in target setting initiatives to guide management.
  • Liaise with executives to establish new analytical techniques and best practices within Canadian Commercial team.
  • Supports on-going RFP, tenders and contract negotiation activities with all stakeholders – e.g. chains, banners etc. and ensures that any changes are reflected in the Territory targets and forecast.
  • Undertakes appropriate analysis, in a proactive manner, in order to provide meaningful reporting to executive management to support effective decision-making and operational benchmarking of business activities.  Utilizes advanced analytical techniques to identify and recommend profitability improvement initiatives to the Canadian business.
  • Manages change through effective communication and teamwork.  Responds to highly complex queries from internal clients with respect to profit management issues.
  • Act as a technical expert on all aspects of the customer related issues including but not limited to maintenance of accrual, payment request, and account reconciliations and apply all learning to proactively prevent future errors.
  • Works in a safe manner collaborating as a team member to achieve all outcomes.

Job Requirements

  • Education
    • University Degree in Business / Accounting or relevant field and Accounting Professional Designation preferred
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
    • Knowledge of a sales organization’s business processes.
    • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of SAP, and BW modules as well as PC based analytical tools such as Access (databases), Excel (spreadsheets), Visual Basic, project management and word processing software.
    • Ability to make effective decisions in a timely manner.
    • Ability to work with all levels within the organization in terms of people, processes and systems.  Organizational agility.
    • Ability to understand the organizations vision and goals and the ability to communicate and actions them in an effective manner.
    • Excellent oral and written English communication skills
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
    • Strong command skills to support forecasting “watchdog” role.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to relate well to internal and external customers
  • Experience
    • 3-5 years pharmaceutical or business experience (Advanced data analytics, Forecasting, financial analysis, statistical modeling and analytics)
