Job Summary

This team consists of individuals with financial and business background and is responsible for:•Definition of corporate performance metrics•Definition of corporate reporting standards•Definition of reports and reporting requirements•Definition of reports usage•Definition of accessrights to reportsAs an important member of the Global Information Systems (GIS) team and working closely with the Enterprise Data Office (EDO) team, the Associate Director, Enterprise Data Platform Management is responsible for the delivery of effective, efficient, integrated and timely design, configurationand operation of Enterprise Data Platform (EDP) solutions to support the Apotex functions that rely on the platform as well as the Enterprise Data Strategy and Apotex’s Digital Transformation.

As the leader of the EDP Centre of Excellence (CoE), this role plays a key leadership role in establishing the appropriate technical and applications solution design, and optimization of the platforms/tools to improve efficiency and mitigate risks as it relates to the EDP Program.

In conjunction with GIS and EDO leaders and  Enterprise Architecture,develops, makes authoritative recommendations on improvements/cost and ensures the implementation of consistent and harmonized policies, procedures and professional standards of performance for the Enterprise Data Platform.

Job Responsibilities

  • This role is responsible for the development of the vision, strategy and the roadmap for the enterprise data platform management CoE in support of business operations, aligning to Enterprise Architecture, GIS policies/standards and GIS strategy.
  • Leads the EDP CoE and provides program and project information to stakeholders, management, and partners.
  • Responsible for the periodic review and assessment of the technology and tools in the EDP, with focus on improving efficiency, effectiveness, risk mitigation and continuous integration with existing and future technologies.
  • Working closely with EDO, Digital Transformation Program Office (DTPO) and other stakeholders, ensure that the Enterprise Data Platform is secure, optimally setup and supported, to manage the information requirements of the company.
  • Supports EDO in implementing the enterprise strategy on building, curating, analysing user access and managing data in the EDP to better serve the end business users.
  • In close collaboration with Senior Director, Enterprise Data and Analytics and functional leaders in the GIS organization, allocates, secures, and leads technical resources to ensure efficient and effective program implementation. Advising and coordinating operations of the EDP CoE.
  • Establishes the EDP CoE organizational structure with proper development plans and continuous learning. Builds the optimal team with subject matter expertise in Data Platforms, Data Engineering, Solution and Tools that would support the EDP and be the liaison between EDO and GIS.
  • Engages with the industry to learn about best practices, gain insightful competitive and regulatory intelligence to help in building excellence in Apotex’s EDP
  • Participate and lead performance conversations with employees, including monthly one on ones, to connect on performance; check in on employee’s progress toward achieving Objectives, offer support and remove barriers; and, communicate and revisit performance expectations to reinforce and encourage high performance culture and a safe working environment for all employees.

Job Requirements

  • Education
    • in Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering or Mathematics. Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data or Business is preferred
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
    • Excellent verbal and written communications skills with experience presenting to various levels and senior executives
    • Track record of leading change in a complex, matrix organization
    • Involvement with data and information/content strategies involving collaborative solutions, predictive analytics and BI reporting, machine learning, knowledge systems, big data, and the use of diverse sources of data/content
    • A track record of working collaboratively with multiple departments to identify and solve issues and ability to influence at all levels in the organization
    • Prior experience in establishing and managing vendor partnerships is preferred
    • Strong operational and team leadership in complex environments
  • Experience
    • 5+ years of experience in leading a team of technology and/or data management resources
    • Experience in a Business support role with focus on data and/or technology
    • Experience managing major systems/process implementations
