Job Summary

The Associate Director, Global Benefits and Pension will direct and manage Apotex’s global benefits, pension, global mobility and employee wellness programs. The role will lead innovative initiatives that promote best in class global benefits, promote mental health and work-life effectiveness, and ensure market competitive, cost-effective and easy to administer programs for employees and the company. The role will be a strategic leader who will implement and operationalize plans/processes on deliverables and is passionate about delivering top-tier benefits and pension programs

Global Benefits & Pension (Retirement Plan) Delivery: Responsible for the global delivery of benefits and pension design, implementation, administration and education to employees to enhance engagement and deliver our employer value proposition. The effective management of the benefits and pension functions, including the establishment and maintenance of all procedures, controls and processes pertaining to administration. Ensure that exceptional customer service and support is provided to all employees at all times.

Job Responsibilities

  • Optimized execution of strategy for the global philosophy, design and delivery of benefits (traditional and non-traditional/emerging) and pension programs in Canada, US, Mexico, India and Gulf Region.
  • Global management of all 3rd party vendor relationships, benefits and pension governance and reporting.
  • Seeks process improvement for the design and delivery of global programs: global mobility, mental health and wellbeing, leaves of absences, and DE&I impact on all programs.
  • Act as the subject matter expert to work closely with global HR partners in US, Mexico, India and the Gulf Region for benefits and pension design.
  • Manage the administration of multiple historical Individual Pension Plans (IPP) for Executives.
  • Ensure all benefits and pension programs are accurately and efficiently managed in SAP SuccessFactors HCM and global payroll systems.
  • Lead the Health Services Team that is responsible for the management of our medical surveillance/testing, short term disabilitly, salary continuance, long term disability, return to work and global wellbeing programs to support out business.

Job Requirements

  • Education
    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
    • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
    • Ability to make recommendations after reviewing market information and through analysis.
    • Strong customer service orientation
    • Ability to function in a fast paced environment
    • Computer literacy with Microsoft Office and an HRIS, previous SAP SuccessFactors, Oracle HCM and/or Workday experience preferred
    • Strong leadership abilities
    • Strong communication skills
  • Experience
    • 7-10 years of experience in Human Resources with at least 5+ plus years of progressive leading/managing global benefits and pension with experience working with leadership and HR partners to effectively deliver results.
    • Ideally will have experience in a fast paced and growing global company and/or global health industry.
    • Previous experience in global mobility, employee recognition and wellness programs is preferred. Experience managing health services, medical surveillance/testing and leave management for operational employees is ideal.
    • Previous public company experience is desired and considered an asset.
