Job Summary

Reporting to the Associate Director, Talent Acquisition, the Talent Acquisition Consultant is accountable for sourcing, attracting, and selecting high calibre talent for Apotex, primarily for intermediate to senior level roles.

Job Responsibilities

• Act as a recruitment subject matter expert to Apotex managers and supervisors and a brand ambassador for Apotex.
• Partner with hiring leaders to support the end-to-end recruitment process. This includes developing an understanding of their business area, roles within their business, and their short and longer term hiring requirements.
• Develop and execute sourcing plans, build candidate pipeline, and meet recruitment milestones to ensure positions are filled as quickly as possible with qualified candidates.
• Source qualified passive candidates for open roles leveraging candidate databases, social media, educational institutions, referrals, etc, and post on relevant sites/portals.  Recommend and leverage additional sourcing avenues as appropriate
• Recommend and manage relationships with approved search vendors where applicable.
• Partner with the HR Business Partner as appropriate to support the hiring process. 
• Ensure that Apotex job postings are accurate, professional, and attractive to candidates. Apply a marketing mind-set and exceptional writing skills in the preparation of job postings for external audiences to ensure they reflect Apotex’s employee value proposition.
• Screen and assess candidates based on job requirements and in accordance with the Internal Job Posting Program and applicable legislation, ensuring only qualified candidates are presented to the hiring manager.
• Interview independently, or with hiring managers, utilizing established interview guides and applying behavioural based interviewing techniques.
• Make appropriate hiring recommendations including compensation recommendations, in conjunction with the hiring leader and consult with the Canada Compensation team and the HR Business Partner to support as required.
• Extend and negotiate verbal and written job offers, often complex in nature, including preparing offer as per established process and ensuring that all reference checks and other requirements are completed. 
• Conduct all post offer activities including providing timely follow up and feedback where required to both internal and external candidates; and complete all required administrative activities including communication as required to Canada Compensation and Payroll etc.
• Support the Associate, Director, Talent Acquisition in developing and implementing innovative recruitment strategies and programs.  Support continuous improvement activities and make recommendations for change where appropriate. 
• Demonstrate discipline and diligence in regularly utilizing and updating the Global Talent Acquisition Management system. Accountable for ensuring accurate recruitment metrics and regularly reviews individual results to identify areas of improvement.
• Respond to complex issues and queries from hiring managers and candidates, escalating to Associate Director, Talent Acquisition as appropriate.
• Perform all work in accordance with all established regulatory, compliance and safety requirements.
• Collaborate and support team members on policies, processes, practices, etc.

Job Requirements

Education

• Post secondary degree/diploma in Human Resources or a related discipline
• CHRL designation or working towards completion preferred

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written
• Excellent relationship management skills and ability to influence key stakeholders
• Ability to work autonomously and effectively as a member of a team to achieve expected outcomes
• Computer literacy with Microsoft Office programs and familiarity with an Applicant Tracking System and HRIS.
• Excellent organizational skills and demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Results oriented with a demonstrated ability to meet aggressive deadlines
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to respectfully and tactfully interact with a variety of internal and external stakeholders from diverse backgrounds

 

Experience
• 5 – 7 years work experience as a Recruiter , including behavioural interviewing techniques.
