Job Summary
The Coordinator, Production Containers (CPC) is responsible for:
- perform tote inspection and assembly tasks according to GMP procedures
- maintain the operation of tote washer in a good working condition
- perform disassemble of dirty totes, and load totes and other racks on the inbound conveyor as per the operating requirements
- perform cleaning tasks related to material handling equipment/systems, including tote washer, tote conveyors, tote inspection stand, yield check system, etc.
- providing tote handling services to 150 Signet manufacturing facility
- perform shift start inspections and assisting in maintenance of material handling systems.
- contribute individually and as a team member to achieve the Apotex 2010 Strategic Plan.
- working in accordance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act (Ontario), Apotex Health and Safety policies and Safe Work Procedures (SWPs), Safety Charter and departmental safety expectations and programs.
- material handling systems and equipment includes but is not limited to: yield check system, conveyors (tote, pallet), material (tote) lifts, racking, dock doors, MHDs (material handling devices e.g. walkies, fork trucks, etc.).
Job Responsibilities
- To ensure the following systems, equipment, processes and areas are clean, operating within service level agreement and as per ‘just in time’ design and improve performance to achieve Apotex 2010 goals:
- Yield Check System
- Tote, bottle tote and pallet movement processes and systems
- Clean totes used to contain WIP and dirty totes received from packaging
- Manual transfer of material (supply and returns of caps, labels, etc.) from and to the tote assembly area (2nd Floor)
- Manual transfer of material (supply, returns and finished goods) from and to material
- Manual transfer of material (supply, returns) from and to the GMP area in 150 Signet
- To complete the pre-shift inspection of automated material handling systems and equipment.
- To perform daily calibration checks of all scales in coating area
- Ensure that location inventory system accurately reflects locations of WIP (work in process) inventory and in-process containers.
- To be the liaison between Logistics and Packaging or Production operators for automated material handling systems issues.
- To work with/inform maintenance technicians for automated tote washing/handling system and to assist maintenance technicians with routine preventative maintenance tasks on non-critical equipment.
- Ensure that all work is performed in full compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices, Standard Operating Procedures and established safety standards.
- Workplace inspections/verifications including vehicles, conveyors, scales and lifts and to ensure equipment is in working order. Document inspections on appropriate check sheets and/or work orders as required.
- Perform and adhere to the required policies within the Therapeutic Product Program (TPP) and Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
- Troubleshoot and clear daily minor tote washer faults as required
- Work with Compounding logistic technicians and warehouse technicians to ensure consistent supply of clean totes to tableting and coating departments
- Perform additional duties as required
Job Requirements
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalency
- Fluent in English written and oral communication
- Basic knowledge of computer operations/PC literate
- To be qualified to operate a reach truck and walkie.
- Willing and able to work shift work and/or overtime when needed
- Able to lift 50 lbs.
- Knowledge of SAP an asset (especially WM/MM, PM and QM notifications)
- Familiarity with conveyor systems an asset
