Job Summary

 

As a Financial Analyst within the Global Supply and Manufacturing (GSM) function of Apotex Inc., this position acts as a strong support mechanism to the Manager, Operations Finance GSM by providing monthly financial reporting for the Global Finished Dosage Operations, Global API Manufacturing , Global Supply Chain, Global Engineering and Global Technical Operations.

This role will work more closely in supporting the Global Supply Chain function in providing in-depth variance analysis, monthly forecast, budgeting and supporting the cost review meetings. This role will be responsible to provide monthly reporting to the three Manufacturing sites located in the GTA as well as the three Affiliate Sites located overseas which will include Headcount as well as Operating Expenses and to help address queries on variances from the respective Cost Center owners.

The FA will also provide monthly reports on operational expenses and variances for Global Functions that help to support the Manufacturing Sites (i.e. Global Supply Chain, Global Manufacturing & Tech-Ops, Corporate Engineering, and External Supply Operations).

In addition, the FA will support the Manager, Operations Finance GSM in monthly reporting of GSM performance against its Budget and Work Plan objectives.

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Plays a key role during monthly, quarterly and year end reviews by compiling/consolidating and analyzing the financial results and matters of particular interest or importance. At times will be responsible for conducting various financial analyses related to the ongoing financial operations of the organization (variance/trend analysis).
  • Help to standardize performance measurement methodologies and processes across GSM, and support new ways of interpreting financial data to drive meaningful explanations.
  • Provide monthly financial reports to GTA Sites. Support site leadership teams (SLT) and cost center owners in understanding variances to budget or forecast. Coach cost center owners in being able to extract relevant data from SAP to monitor spend.
  • Work closely with the Manager, Operations Finance GSM to ensure the quality and accuracy of financial data. Develop new analytical tools, reports and controls as needed.
  • Support the Manager, Operations Finance GSM in understanding variances to Budget or Forecast and assist in conducting cost reviews and monitor departmental expenses based on total budget for Global Supply Chain, Global Enngineeing, Global API Maufacturing and External Supply Operations.
  • Support to help validate, consolidate, analyse, and communicate monthly cost variances and other metrics to GSM Leadership Team.

Job Requirements

 

  • Education
    • University degree specializing in Finance, Accounting, Business Operations
    • CPA designation, or working nearing completion.
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
    • Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to present concepts at all levels in an organization, particularly at the senior management level
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and a team player. Ability to build strong relationships and collaborate with multiple stakeholders, across the global network and within functions
    • Strong ability to anticipate management information requirements
    • Ability to identify opportunities for improvement in a timely and effective manner
    • Able to work independently in a proactive manner
    • Excellent organizational abilities and time-management skills
    • Strong computer skills, particularly MS Office, and experience in an SAP environment
  • Experience
    • 2-3 years of experience ideally in a fast-paced, deadline driven, multi-facility, global manufacturing environment
