Job Summary

The Lead, Global Inventory Management & Strategic Initiatives is responsible for responsible for overseeing all aspects of a company's inventory, including setting up inventory targets, tracking inventory levels against targets & utilizing management systems to generate reports on key metrics like inventory turnover, DIO, DIOH, projected inventory etc., identifying trends and areas for improvement.  

This position partners with cross functional teams including Commericla teams, GEO, Supply planning, & AGO Finance for smooth functioning of Inventory management processes in order to achieve AGO & DIO objectives.

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the entire inventory management process across a company's global operations, ensuring optimal stock levels, efficient supply chain flow, and working capital control by strategically managing inventory across multiple geographical locations, collaborating with local teams and utilizing data analysis to identify and address global inventory challenges.
  • Lead the IBP Monthly Global & Risk Inventory Review Process Performance Metrics for AGO.
  • Responsible for the execution of advanced analytical and modelling techniques to determine when KPIs are out of acceptable tolerances, determine root causes, and identify unfavourable trends to ensure optimal inventory levels throughout the supply chain.
  • Develop and execute global inventory strategies aligned with business objectives, including safety stock levels, inventory taregts and optimal reorder points across categories including Finished good, Raw materials, work in progress & others
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) like inventory turnover, DIO, stock-out rates, and carrying costs to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with global inventory targets
  • Implement and maintain robust inventory management & reporting systems to accurately track stock levels, facilitate real-time data analysis, and streamline reporting across international locations.
  • Resposnible for identifying & mitigating inventory write-off risks and ensure escalation with leadership on risk inventory as required.
  • Work closely with cross functional teams including suppy planning, site execution, commercial teams, corporate & AGO finance team to create one source of truth for inventory reporting and lead all material preparation that is required for management reviews accordingly.
  • Continoulsy works with the GBS team to continuously upgrate inventpory reporting to provide the mandated inventory data, analyses and information to support the monthly cycle.
  • Utilize open, honest, two way communication to build trust-based relationships with employees, business partners and direct leader while continuously improving leadership capabilities by personally seeking feedback and development.

Job Requirements

  • Education
    • BS/BA degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Business or a Supply Chain/Operations discipline.
    • B.A., APICS CPIM, PMP certification and Lean Six Sigma certification or training would be an asset.

  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
    • Robust knowledge of SAP Supply Chain Suite; Inventory Management Systems with experience with Advanced Supply Chain & Optimization-Production Planning/Detailed Scheduling (APO-PP/DS) or equivalent Planning System, including expert knowledge of core SAP tables and data structure.
    • Strong analytical skills with ample experience extracting/manipulating large amounts of data, and modelling and building complex reports through the use SQL, advanced Excel, relational database queries, QlikView or equivalent tools.
    • Strong knowledge of operational supply chain processes including the flow of materials and information.
    • Experience in and knowledge of the Canadian and/or US generic pharma or related industry preferred.
    • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate complex ideas in clear, simple and succinct ways, both orally and in writing, to all levels of the organization.
    • Demonstrated ability to champion change and drive improvements.
    • Self-Motivated, who can lead teams and motivate them to drive for results.
  • Experience
    • Minimum 3+ years of relevant experience in highly analytical, data intensive operations/supply chain/ inventory management and/or finance roles.
