Job Summary

Develop and implement strategies to enhance the timely adoption of Apotex brand innovative products by engaging with key stakeholders and leveraging insights into the Canadian pharmaceutical market to optimize market access and secure favourable reimbursement for both current and future brands.

Job Responsibilities

  • In collaboration with the Marketing team, develop strategies to gain and maintain reimbursement of public and private formularies across Canada for Apotex brands.
  • Identify market access opportunities and challenges for assigned brands and develop strategies to shape the market to ensure a favourable access environment.
  • Lead the development of the brand payer value story with clinical and economic key messages for payer interactions and submissions.
  • Collaborate with global partners to enable strategies that are aligned with Canadian market access needs.
  • Lead the team at external stakeholders’ meetings with payers and HTA bodies.
  • Develop and implement the engagement plan for key stakeholders, including negotiation strategies for assigned brands.
  • Lead the development of payer value communication tools.
  • Monitor and evaluate competitor pricing and reimbursement strategies.
  • Work effectively with the Marketing team to ensure access is communicated appropriately.
  • Maintain and continuously optimize the market access strategy and payer value proposition throughout the lifecycle for assigned brands.
  • Works in a safe manner collaborating as a team member to achieve all outcomes.

Job Requirements

  • Education
    • University degree in science, pharmacy, business, health economics, or the equivalent; master’s degree would be an asset

  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
    • Strong understanding and intelligence of the Canadian payer environment (public and private), CDA, INESSS and provincial decision-making processes
    • Experience in pricing and reimbursement at the federal and provincial level as well as with private insurance
    • Understanding of strategic interplays that influence payer decisions
    • Proven experience in value demonstration and communication
    • Proven success in reimbursement negotiations
    • Strong business savvy with the ability to translate knowledge into business opportunities
    • Bilingualism is strongly preferred
    • Ability to work independently, prioritize and drive for results with an emphasis on quality
    • Ability to influence cross-functionally and at multiple management levels
    • Advanced written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience
    • A minimum of 8 years total experience. 6 plus years in the pharmaceutical industry, including 3 plus years in a market access function
