Job Summary
Apotex, the largest Canadian-based pharmaceutical company, is seeking a Manager, Product and Market Communications to join our team. You will be part of an iconic, global organization with a world-class leadership team, an exciting growth strategy, and the opportunity to make a significant impact in your career. As the successful candidate, you will serve as the primary communications partner to our commercial teams and Corporate Development team, effective communication and messaging consistency and cohesion. You will be the communications partner to five members of our Executive Leadership Team (President, Canada; President, US; President, International; President, Searchlight Pharma; and EVP, Corporate Development), developing internal- and market-facing communications strategies, and managing customer communications, product-related communications, and overseeing partnership and licensing announcements. Reporting to the Senior Director of Communications, you work naturally and confidently with executive-level stakeholders, demonstrating strategic thinking, adaptability, and a commitment to excellence in all communications efforts.
Job Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary communications partner our commercial leaders and our EVP, Corporate Development, along with their teams, ensuring alignment and effective communications. Engage with key stakeholders, both internal and external, to gather insights and feedback that inform communication strategies.
- Develop and implement strategic communication plans that support product launches, market entry, other key initiatives, and enhance executive visibility. Manage the communication of partnership and licensing announcements internally and externally, ensuring that all messaging is clear, accurate, and impactful.
- Develop and manage customer communications, ensuring clarity, consistency, and alignment with Apotex’s brand and messaging in collaboration with commercial, legal, compliance, and other teams.
- Manage product-related issues to mitigate potential impact on customer relationships and Apotex’s reputation.
- Monitor and analyze communication metrics to assess the effectiveness of communication strategies and initiatives. Use insights to continuously improve communication efforts and achieve better engagement and reach.
- Work closely with colleagues on the Communications team to execute the overall communications strategy, providing guidance and support to ensure cohesive and effective communication efforts across our organization.

Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create clear, accurate, and impactful messaging.
- Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement skills, strong executive presence, and the ability to work closely with colleagues to ensure cohesive and impactful communications
- In-depth understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, including regulatory requirements, market dynamics, and product lifecycle management, to effectively align communication strategies with industry standards.
- Creative thinking and strategic planning abilities, with a focus on continuous improvement, detail orientation, and the ability to adapt communication strategies to different markets and cultural contexts.
- Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to develop and implement strategic communication plans, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Adaptability to changing priorities and fast-paced environments, with a commitment to working safely and collaboratively.

- Experience
- 5-7 years of experience in communications, including within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry, with both corporate and agency experience preferred.
- Experience in stakeholder engagement, including working with senior executives and cross-functional teams to gather insights and inform communication strategies.
- Experience developing and executing innovative communications strategies, along with a proven track record of developing and implementing communication plans that support product launches, market entry, and other key initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability to manage product-related issues and crisis communication, ensuring minimal impact on customer relationships and corporate reputation.
- Experience with communication metrics and data analysis, using insights to continuously improve communication efforts and achieve better engagement and reach.
- Project management experience, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
