Job Summary

The Manager, Supply Chain Scheduling and Execution works to ensure that the Apotex Supply Chain is scheduled, executed, measured, and aligns with the Corporate strategies and objectives.  This manager is accountable for managing the near term operational schedule, including material and capacity allocations, batch document preparation and interaction with all operational departments to make certain that operational plans are met.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Operations:
    1. Responsible for managing the site Scheduling Team.
    2. Responsible to ensure that the site-based Supply Chain Execution teams are executing their portion of the schedule to achieve the Corporate objectives.
    3. Facilitate the development of an aggregate 4 month plan by providing visibility to current capacity information.
    4. Initiates and leads multiple and/or complex cross-functional teams designed to optimize productivity.
    5. Responsible for Supply Scheduling and Execution resource planning forecasting, administration, and recruiting.
    6. Develops, recommends, and implements departmental work policies and procedures in line with the strategy and makes recommendations to the Director, Supply Chain Execution


  1. Personnel:
    1. Direct the operations of the supervisory staff to achieve prescribed objectives.
    2. Apply sound communication and motivational techniques in supervising, counselling, coaching and disciplining subordinates.
    3. Recruit, train, develop and manage effectively the ongoing performance of their direct reports, which includes, but is not limited to:
      • Ensuring their Job Descriptions are reviewed, signed and sent to Employee Services, annually,
      • Reviewing and updating employee development plans, ensuring that all employees are properly trained and qualified to execute their duties,
      • Providing coaching, feedback and recognition.
  2. Communication:
    1. Hold management and staff meetings to effectively communicate company directives, goals, policies and performance standards.
    2. Maintain full engagement with the site leadership Team, participating in leadership team meetings and proactively engaging in constructive and open dialogue.


  1. Systems:
    1. Ensure systems are in place to maximize scheduling and execution efficiencies and visibility.
    2. Ensure systems are maintained and upgraded, as necessary. Establish Critical Success factors for execution performance.


  1. Compliance:
    1. Responsible to ensure compliance of team members (direct reports) with Safety and Employment policies (e.g., Respect in the Workplace – Prevention of Violence and/or Harassment).
    2. Performs all work in accordance with all established regulatory and compliance and safety requirements
    3. Ensure the delivery of an effective training program that maintains all personnel at a current state with respect to latest standards, procedures and guidelines

Job Requirements

  • A Bachelor degree in an appropriate discipline
  • Minimum 3 – 5 years of related and/or relevant experience
  • Post-secondary education or related certificate program
  • Experience in project management techniques and software
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Creative problem solver with experience in costing/process analysis
  • Ability to interact with all levels of the organization, external suppliers, and customers in a professional, objective manner
  • APICS certified or actively working towards
  • Previous Supply Chain background with emphasis on SAP
  • Extensive experience with ERP concepts and application
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Knowledge of all departments within Operations and the flow of materials and information
  • Excellent organization and coordination skills
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, short lead-times and adjust priorities in a professional manner
  • Ability to work independently or within an integrated team environment
  • Ability to perform situational root cause analysis and implement permanent corrective action

  • Proficient with Microsoft applications
