Job Summary

Responsible for leading strategic, cross-functional initiatives related to improvements in GSTO processes, systems, compliance and/or efficiencies. Responsible for acting as a lead process and technology advisor to GSTO Management teams and act as a resource and lead contact for the department and other departments in areas of master data, technology and processes. Represents GSTO on strategic Corporate and global projects and initiatives.

Implements and coordinates Data Management activities across all sites in collaboration with Role Owners, Data Stewards and other Stakeholders; manages the day-to-day operation regarding the maintenance of Master Data in corporate systems (e.g. SAP), as per current Good Manufacturing Practices and Change Control policies; accountable for the overall quality of Master Data, and for monitoring and controlling its accuracy, consistency and completeness; provides guidance and oversees the adherence to Master Data and Meta-Data standards and policies across systems, organizational units and processes.

Job Responsibilities

-Leads the team responsible for processing change requests and maintaining GMP Master Data objects (Materials, BOMs, recipes, inspection plans, etc.) accordance with established Service-level agreements, policies and procedures.

-Acts as senior point of escalation for rush, critical or highly-complex data and change requests, and is able to prioritize, delegate and coordinate ensuing activities among staff.
-In conjunction with Quality Departments, responds to Regulatory Inspections and Inquiries related to systems’ Master Data and configuration.
-Collaborates with leadership across the organization to identify business needs, problem solve and implement Data Management capabilities and processes.
-Managing the Enterprise Data Management team administrative policies, procedures, risks, issues, problem resolution and decision making as well as budgeting and prioritizing based on the need of the business.
-Demonstrate leadership in a Project Management role on selected major projects, programs or initiatives that will lead to improvements in process, technology, compliance and/or efficiencies. Support these projects by driving the implementation of Data Governance in close collaboration with multiple stakeholders, documenting ownership and rules, and assisting with data construction and remediation as applicable.
-Accountable to take a leadership role serving as a senior technical expert in selected systems-related projects or programs.
-Responsible for taking a leadership role in the investigation, diagnosis and resolution of master data, process and technology incidents impacting GSTO. Act as representative in decisions leading to stabilizing systems used in daily operations.
-In conjunction with internal/external customers and suppliers, provide a technical perspective in the development of new and/or improvements to process, metrics, compliance, training and systems.
-Responsible for providing mentoring or coaching to various business units on master data governance, business processes and integration using information technology systems.
-Respond and take ownership of complex and/or unconventional queries and provide policy interpretations, technical advice and recommendations as appropriate.
-Responsible for Planning Systems and Master Data training within and outside the department.
-Participate and lead performance conversations with employees; check in on employee’s progress toward achieving Objectives, offer support and remove barriers; communicate and revisit performance expectations to reinforce and encourage high performance culture and a safe working environment.

Job Requirements


BS/BA degree in Information Systems, Business, Engineering or a Supply Chain/Operations discipline.
M.B.A., APICS CPIM certification and Lean Six Sigma certification or training would be an asset.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Superior knowledge of SAP modules, most importantly MM, QM, PP and SD, Supply Chain Suite; experience with Advanced Planning & Optimization-Production Planning/Detailed Scheduling (APO-PP/DS) or equivalent Inventory Planning System, including knowledge of core SAP tables and data structure.
Expert knowledge of operational supply chain processes including the flow of materials and information.
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate complex ideas in clear, simple and succinct ways, both orally and in writing, to all levels of the organization.
Ability to work and effectively manage priorities in a dynamic and fast paced environment.
Demonstrated Project Management/Leadership capabilities on successful systems implementation(s), with demonstrated ability to lead, mentor and develop others.
Excellent presentation skills in a variety of settings with business or technical users, from end users to senior management, in small and large groups.
Experience delivering training and/or creating training materials on business or technical topics.
Demonstrated ability to lead the development of new and unique approaches to resolve business/technical issues.
Strong change management skills, preparing for and facilitating the implementation of change.
Highly collaborative working style and able to influence business outcomes without formal authority.


Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in a Pharmaceutical/Process/Consumer Packaged Goods industry, within an Information Systems, Project Management or Management Consulting Environment, with some exposure to Manufacturing and Packaging processes.
Advanced understanding of Business processes and regulations in the pharmaceutical industry desired.
