Job Summary

The Master Production Planner (MPP) is responsible for the management of the capacity plan for the assigned sites within the Apotex network of facilities.  Highlighting capacity imbalances within an adequate time for proper decision making, with the intention of modelling options to support potential solutions.  In conjunction with working closely with Global Demand Planning, to receive a properly prepared 36 month Material Load, and highlighting risks pertaining to the future supply outlook in the longer term horizon.

Job Responsibilities

  • The Master Production Planner is responsible for all aspects, from creation to presentation of recommendations, of a balanced rough cut Long Range capacity plan for their assigned manufacturing site(s).
  • Development of supply scenarios and sensitivity analysis (risk) with recommendations to be used in the development of supply strategies.
  • Develop IBP-A models of capacity utilization and provide recommendations.
  • Conduct “what if” analysis required for strategy development.
  • The Master Production Planner must regularly liaise with the Supply Chain Execution team regarding the Master Production Scehdule and highlight any contentious supply issues and to ensure a smooth flow of information moving from the long range into the execution period paying particular concern to inventory levels, plant efficiencies and customer service.
  • The Master Production Planner must ensure that all the applicable master data is accurate. Audit/refresh of master data according to the predefined IBP-A Global Baseline process.
  • The Master Production Planner will liaise regularly, as key supply contact, with many groups such as the site manufacturing teams.

Job Requirements

  • Education
    • Community College or University graduate in appropriate discipline
    • APICS certified or actively working towards
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
    • Strong analytical and organizational skills
    • Knowledge of operational supply chain processes including the flow of materials and information
    • Good written and oral communication skills
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks, short lead-times and adjust priorities in a professional manner
    • Ability to work independently or within an integrated team environment
    • Ability to perform situational root cause analysis and implement permanent corrective action
    • Customer focused, drive for results
    • Proficient with Microsoft applications
  • Experience
    • Previous Supply Planning background with emphasis on SAP
    • Experience with ERP concepts and application
