Job Summary

Responsible for the development, assessment, tracking and execution of business processes and/or initiatives that affect Global API Supply Management.  As a Project Leader, you will work within Global API Supply Management to focus on end-to-end process creation, transformation and optimization that will lay the foundation for Regional Hub and Site operations.  Reporting to the Manager, you will be responsible for assessing & creating policies and procedures to realize efficiencies within operational processes, standardized activities, and improved levels of supplier/business partner satisfaction.  

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead and/or participate in work with process transformation teams to analyze, interpret, document and produce business insight, and ensure proposed recommendations are properly validated and communicated with internal teams
  • Lead and/or conduct broad-based research of moderately complex business/market information to support process and data analysis activities.
  • Lead and/or support development of executive-ready presentations to summarize findings and recommendations in a concise manner.
  • Work collaboratively with business partners leveraging their resources to gather information by leading and/or participating in process observations, time studies, and process mapping activities.
  • Lead and/or participate in the documentation and development of the current state assessment identifying sources of information, detailed process descriptions, process stakeholders and pain points/opportunities for improvement.
  • Lead and/or participate in the documentation and development of the future state including roadmap design, conducting cost/benefit analysis, establishing performance metrics and identifying risks (and their mitigation) to support implementation of the new process.
  • Participate in Global API meetings to assess cross-functional impact of changes and define implementation plans and strategies. 
  • Act as an expert resource by utilizing advanced analytical techniques to identify contentious issues and anticipate problems affecting the ability to complete projects on time.  Jointly develop contingency plans with key stakeholders including the Global API Corporate management team and Global API sourcing hubs.  Communicate recommended course of action/decision for execution.
  • Support the establishment of a communication framework to inform stakeholders of progress, issues and proposed contingency plans, and escalate issues as appropriate.
  • Identify needs and implement improvements for Global API processes and participate in the regular review and revision of existing SOPs to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Job Requirements

  • University degree or equivalent in Business and/or Engineering.  MBA or relevant professional designation would be an asset
  • 3 -5 years in process improvement/transformation, consulting (internal or external), or process engineering, with preference being given to experience in the Pharmaceutical industry
  • Experience successfully applying Business Process Management, Six Sigma, or Lean concepts
  • Strong understanding of enterprise systems (ie. SAP)
  • Technical skills:  High level proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Access, Project) 
  • Communication skills:  well-developed presentation and communication skills, both written and oral, and ability to effectively negotiate with and influence stakeholders.
  • Interpersonal Relationship skills: experience with approaches, tools and techniques for working with and leading individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner.
  • Time-management skills:  Ability to effectively manage multiple activities of varying complexity while under time constraints.
  • Innovation:  Strong interest in innovation, finding better tools and ways of completing current work.
