Job Summary

The Supply Chain Master Data Specialist supports business processes and data quality by reviewing and processing change requests submitted by the business teams, in accordance with current quality, regulatory, and compliance requirements.

The Supply Chain Master Data Specialist will have an understanding of relevant supply chain master data management processes. Activities include impact assessment, implementation, and verification of related supply chain master data change requests in the ERP system, ensuring these are carried in accordance with current quality, regulatory, and compliance requirements.

Job Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates comprehensive understanding of business processes in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Have detailed and thorough understanding of SAP supply chain master data and functionality with regards to Material Management (MM), Quality (QM), Sales (SD), and Production Planning (PP).
  • Reviews and assesses the impact of submitted change requests, and work closely with the Business SMEs and stakeholders to ensure that all requests are clear and accurate, and that the required supporting documentation/data is present and complete.
  • Maintains supply chain master data by executing requested changes as governed by the established processes.
  • Provides guidance and support on supply chain master data process to users.
  • Demonstrate an advanced understanding of business processes and regulations in the pharmaceutical industry, especially regarding change control practices and applications within a GxP environment
  • Analyze and identify areas for supply chain master data quality improvements in order to meet the demanding needs of the business.
  • Lead and/or represent the department in cross-functional projects and initiatives; liaise with other departments as required

  • Identify and escalate issues to management as necessary

Job Requirements

  • Education
    • Post-Secondary Degree and/or Diploma in a related discipline (i.e. Business, Engineering, Sciences, Supply Chain Management or IT)
    • SAP MM certification is an asset
    • APICS designation or actively working towards is a valuable asset
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
    • Strong skills in communication, facilitation and stakeholder management
    • Robust knowledge of supply chain master data management processes and industry best practices
    • Advanced knowledge of ERP systems, specifically regarding the functionality and integration of Sales, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain (SAP preferred)
    • Experience using Winshuttle for data automation is a strong asset.
    • Strong computer skills particularly MS Office tools (Excel, Access, Visio and PowerPoint)
    • Proven capacity to consistently produce accurate, complete and thorough work of high quality
    • Good organizational and time management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities to accomplish objectives and goals anticipating and adjusting for problems and interruptions/roadblocks
    • Proven ability to function in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment
    • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Experience
    • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Pharmaceutical/Process Industry, Consumer Packaged Goods, Information Systems, Project Management or Management Consulting environment
    • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Supply Chain Master Data Management
    • Solid understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices, Good Documentation Practices, and Data Integrity is an asset
    • Project management experience and expertise a valuable asset
