Job Summary

Acting as a support person the Student, Co-op will work closely with the Chemist, Scientist R&D and participate in R&D Resource activities for the Richmond Hill site. Work under the supervision of Supervisor, Scientific Lead/Manager and adhering to all cGMP, SOP, and laboratory Guidelines.

Job Responsibilities

  • Works as a member of a team to achieve department asssined work.
  • Performs all assigned work in support of the Apotex Corporate Values of Pride, Accountability,Intergrity and Diligence
  • Performs all work in accordance with all established regulatory and compliance and safety requirements
  • Perform work asassined by management like filing of results or other papers, photo copy of lab note books, data entry in excel for GMP work.
  •  Assists in departmental housekeeping for maintaining a clean and safe work environment and performs other pertinent duties as assigned in accordance with safety and GLP. 
  • Reports any general laboratory issues to the superviror/scientific lead/manager.
  • Photocopy and files all samples related documents and maintains effective filing system
  • Help stability sample coordinator in up keep of samples.
  • Work with safety in accordance to company policy at all the time while coop student is on site.
  • Reports low stock of all consumables (reference standard, solvents, chemicals and general laboratory supplies) to designated person.
  • All other duties as assigned by management

Job Requirements

  • Education
    • Must be enrolled in a Co-op education program in chemical or related life science
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
    • Strong oral and written communication skills
    • Excellent organization skills
  • Experience
    • Experience in the use of Microsoft Office such as Word, Excel, Powerpoint etc.
